Why you should join CotC

Experienced Guild Leaders

The founders of Carriers of the Cross have been running a World of Warcraft guild since 2007.  We know what is needed to make a guild succeed and we focus on it.

 Drama Free Guild

There is nothing I hate worse than getting on to play a game for fun but facing a ton of guild drama instead.  Arguments, ninja looters, whiners, beggars will not be allowed.  We do our best to make the atmosphere fun for everyone, which means sometimes we have to remove people who are ruining that atmosphere for others.

During the later half of our time with the WoW guild we managed to run the guild almost completely drama free for users.  The staff were quick to properly take care of any drama causing issues before they affected the community as a whole.

 Family Friendly environment

Carriers of the Cross, being a Christian led guild, strives to keep the gaming environment safe for the whole family.  This means no cursing, crude joking, or insulting others.  If you want a place for your kids to play without worrying about negative influences then this is the place.

 Mature players

Mature players are promoted within the guild and immature players stay low in the ranks or are eventually removed from the guild.

While we do allow kids into the guild they have certain restrictions.  Parents who are in the guild can have their kids in freely as long as they do not cause trouble.  We love to see families playing together.

Other kids can join as long as they show maturity and respect to others.

  Integrate with a large community of gamers

Carriers of the Cross is in partnership with Christian Crew Gaming (CCG).  A large Christian gaming network.  They play a lot of First Person Shooter games on their own server as well as many other games including Minecraft.  This means when you want a break from Star Wars: The Old Republic you can play other games with the guildies you have already built friendships with.

CCG has also been gracious enough to allow our guild to use their Team Speak server as part of the partnership.  This means you will have access to a server full of gamers to chat with from day one.

  Spiritual Growth

One of our main goals as leaders is to lead spiritually – to help build strong disciples of Christ.  We do this through occasional Bible discussions in Team Speak and in-game guild chat, regular prayer meetings, getting to know people personally, and by having weekly Bible studies through CCG.

Not a Christian? No worries, we are low stress.  We know that pressuring you to accept Christ will at best irritate you, or at worst convince you go through the motions of accepting Christ without really doing it, thus fooling yourself into thinking you are with Christ when you are not.  We put the word out there and leave it to you to decide, take it or leave it.

Non-Christians in the guild are not in any way considered lesser guild members.  The only restriction is that non-Christians cannot be Officers of the guild.  This does not mean you cannot hold a guild position, however.  Some guild positions, such as raid leader, are not officer positions just for this reason.
